Dr. Jerald E. Elrod
Dr. Elrod attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. He received his dental degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Following his tour of duty in the Air Force as a captain in the dental corps, he returned to the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Dentistry to complete a two-year residency and earn his specialty certification in orthodontics and facial orthopedics.
He is a member and has held office in numerous organizations. He is past-president of the Greater Kansas City Orthodontic Society, UMKC Orthodontic Alumni Association and the Eastern Jackson County Dental Society. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the well-respected Foundation of Orthodontic Research. He is active in the American Association of Orthodontists, Missouri State Orthodontic Society, The Greater Kansas City Orthodontic Society and the Jackson County Dental Society.
In years past, Dr. Elrod taught orthodontics at the graduate level as a part-time clinical instructor at the UMKC School of Dentistry.
He and his wife, Janet, have two daughters: Shannon and Amy. In his spare time, he likes to fly, sail, hunt, fish, scuba dive - and his wife insisted he learn how to ballroom dance!
